Garmin launches latest fēnix 8 GPS smartwatch

Apple did not launch a new Apple Watch Ultra 3. Maybe you can pick up the new Garmin fēnix 8 instead. It is a multi-sport GPS smartwatch that comes in either a bright AMOLED display or a solar charging display for longer battery life.

The fēnix 8 comes imbued with many features, such as advanced strength training, 40m dive capabilities, built-in LED light, an internal speaker and mic as well as advanced mapping and navigation.

The AMOLED version comes in three sizes of 43mm, 47mm and 51mm, while the solar charging option comes in two sizes of 47mm and 51mm. You probably might want to get the 51mm option, as the 51mm AMOLED model offers up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and the 51mm solar model has up to 48 days of battery with always-on display turned on. So, you never really need to worry about charging the smartwatch.

Regardless, all models feature leakproof metal buttons, a new sensor guard to help protect essential sensors and have been tested to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance. You can also opt for premium materials like optional titanium bezel or scratch-resistant sapphire for even more ruggedness.
