Life by City Energy (formerly City Gas), the lifestyle, home, and kitchen solutions arm of City Energy, has launched its first gas hobs and cooker hoods. This marks the brand’s second major product category after introducing its range of gas-powered water heaters.
The new Life by City Energy gas hobs are supposed to deliver precise control, thanks to its double ring wok burners with inner ring control that shift quickly between sear and simmer. It features a power-saving semi-rapid burner handles lighter tasks like boiling. In addition, a robust flame failure safety device cuts off the gas supply immediately if the flame is accidentally extinguished. Other features include a sturdy cast iron pan support for heavy cookware and a 1.5V battery-operated ignition that is easy to replace, removing the need for an electrical connection.
On the other hand, Life by City Energy’s cooker hoods have strong suction power to remove smoke, grease and odours effectively. They feature a 3-speed touch control integrated into an easy-to-clean, and scratch-resistant nano-coated tempered glass panel. Energy-efficient LED lighting illuminates the cooking area for better visibility for cooking, while its low-noise operation makes them ideal for open-plan spaces. Furthermore, maintenance is simple, with washable aluminium grease filters and charcoal filters that are easy to remove and replace as needed.
All the new gas hobs and cooker hoods are said to use nano-coated tempered glass panels designed for simpler cleaning and long-term durability. These coatings resist scratches, fingerprints, grease and stains, making surfaces easier to wipe clean and less prone to burnt-on residue. It also withstands daily cooking heat and spills while helping to prevent corrosion, fading, and discolouration. As such, it keeps appliance surfaces looking new and requiring lower maintenance over time.
