I reviewed the original Logitech G Pro X Superlight more than three years ago. Since then, it has a successor with updated internal features, such as new HERO 2 sensor, maximum wireless polling rate of 8,000Hz and USB-C charging. Now, Logitech has followed up with a DEX version.
- Price: S$249, get it at Shopee and Lazada
- Compatibility: Windows 10 or above and USB 2.0 port
- Connectivity: USB-C, LIGHTSPEED (2.4GHz) and PowerPlay
- Resolution: 100 to 44,000 DPI
- Maximum speed: > 888 IPS
- Maximum wired polling rate: 1,000Hz
- Maximum LIGHTSPEED polling rate: 8,000Hz
- Weight: 60g
Previous Pro X Superlight models have always sported an almost symmetrical design. This DEX version differs from its predecessors with its right-hand-focused asymmetrical design.
Developed with feedback from professional gamers, the DEX version features a more sculpted design on its left with a bigger bulge near its end. This allows for a more comfortable grip for a longer period of time for right-handers.
Available in pink, black, and white (reviewed), the G Pro X Superlight 2 DEX is pretty plain like its predecessors. It has only five buttons – left click, right click, scroll wheel as well as side back and forward.
While five buttons seem paltry compared to its hefty price tag, I think very few gamers ever use more than that. Especially for those playing FPS games.
PROS | CONS |
Super duper lightweight | Expensive |
New sculpted design allows for longer comfortable grip | Only for right-handers |
Superb wireless gaming performance | Lack of dedicated DPI button |
Almost zero latency | |
Long battery life |
At its bottom, there is a wireless dongle storage area hidden under a circular removable panel. But you can replace this panel with another panel with the smoother PTFE (chemical name for Teflon) foot, which is included in the box. Using this is highly recommended as you can glide the mouse much faster and smoother.
Out of the box, there are also rubber tapes that you can paste on the two main click buttons and the sides of the mouse for better grip. There is also a cloth wipe for you to prep the mouse for the tape installation. Given Singapore’s humid weather, I think it is better not to do so. But that’s just me.
Like previous Pro X Superlight models, the DEX version is also super lightweight at only 60g. Whether you are using a palm grip or claw grip, the mouse offers super comfortable grasp for longer periods of time.
And whether you are playing FPS games like Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant, or RPG like Diablo 4, you will love the super responsiveness and incredible speed that this mouse moves across the screen to your virtual foes. There is almost zero latency.
Of course, if you are a left-hander, this DEX version will make you really feel left out (pun intended).
As always, Logitech’s wireless LightSpeed connectivity works like a charm. It works even better than wired USB-C in my opinion.
In terms of battery life, the Pro X TKL is rated at 95 hours on a full charge. After using it for a month with around an average an hour of gaming per day with LIGHTSPEED connectivity, the battery level has dropped only to 75%. So, the advertised battery life sounds about right.
Of course, if you have battery anxiety, you can always get the PowerPlay mouse mat ($199). It connects and charges the mouse at the same time, so you don’t have to worry about battery life.
Perhaps, the only downer is the lack of a dedicated DPI button to change the sensitivity of the mouse. But this is more of a nitpick, considering you probably not going to do so often in the middle of a virtual battle.
VERDICT: Apart from its rather hefty price tag of S$249, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 DEX is probably the best lightweight professional wireless gaming mouse in the market. If you are willing to fork out the money, you will not have an ounce of regret when using it. That is, if you are a right-hander.
