Technically speaking, the vivo X Fold5 will only be available on 8 August 2025, but pre-order starts from 31 July to 7 August 2025. And there is a good reason for the pre-order as it gets $300 cheaper at S$2,199, instead of the retail price of S$2,499. In addition, you will get a vivo watch GT (worth S$299) smartwatch, a pair of vivo Buds (worth S$89) earbuds and two years of global warranty with 3-month screen warranty.

So what are you getting for this amount of money? The X Fold5 has a 6.53-inch outer screen when folded, and a 8.03-inch inner screen when unfolded. Both screens have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and brightness of up to 4,500 nits with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. When folded, it is only 92mm thin.

Tipping the scales at 217g, the X Fold5 is vivo’s lightest foldable smartphone to date. Yet, vivo says its hinge can withstand 600,000 folds. Plus, the smartphone has an IPX8 and IPX9 water resistant rating as well as an IPX5 rating for dust protection.

The X Fold5 features a rear triple-camera system comprising a 50-megapixel (MP) telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 100x HyperZoom, a 50MP wide-angle camera and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

Furthermore, it is powered by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W Dual-Cell FlashCharge and Wireless FlashCharge. However, the X Fold5 runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor instead of the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite.
