Huawei has began the rollout of its latest foldable smartphone, Mate X6, after its announcement in Dubai on Thursday (12 Dec 2024). It will be available in Singapore from 11 Jan 2025, with the pre-order starting on 18 Dec 2024, at a price of S$2,598 (Get it at Shopee or Lazada).
The Huawei Mate X6 features a 6.45-inch (2,440 x 1,080 pixels) OLED external display with folded, and sports a 7.9-inch (2,440 x 2,240 pixels) OLED internal display when unfolded. Both features adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz and “HDR Vivid” dynamic range.
Durability is said to be enhanced with 2nd-generation Kunlun Glass on the external display, a carbon fibre inner screen plate, an advanced multi-dimensional hinge, and a robust aviation-grade aluminium middle frame. Furthermore, the phone has IPX8-rated rating to ensure it is not easily spoiled by rain or pool drop. It has a 5,110mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Drawing inspiration from the cosmos, the Mate X6 features a “Space-Age Orbit” camera layout evoking the beauty of planetary orbits. According to Huawei, this design symbolises the boundless potential of the future, while offering a sleek and refined aesthetic.
This rear camera system consists of a 50-megapixel (MP) main wide-angle with a 10-size physical aperture, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 48 MP telephoto camera with 4X optical zoom with 5cm super macro mode.
The Mate X6 will be available in three colours of gray, red and black. In particular, the gray version is said to be crafted using Micro-Nano 3D topography and a unique vegan fibre material, giving it a smooth, tactile feel and a striking, ultra-reflective glow.
At the same time, Huawei also launched its latest true wireless earphones with the FreeBuds Pro 4 ($298)and a new rose gold Huawei FreeClip (S$248) variant.
