Apple’s Vision Pro launching in the US on Feb 2, pre-orders start Jan 19 5am PT

Apple today announced its Vision Pro will be available beginning Friday, February 2, at all U.S. Apple Store locations and the U.S. Apple Store online. Its pricing? It starts from US$3,499 (S$4,652) with 256GB of storage. In addition, ZEISS Optical Inserts — Readers will be available for US$99, and ZEISS Optical Inserts — Prescription will be available for US$149.

In case you haven’t heard, Vision Pro is a spatial computer headset (or mixed reality headset) that is said to seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world. Powered by visionOS, Vision Pro is controlled by the most natural and intuitive inputs possible – a user’s eyes, hands, and voice – to unlock powerful spatial experiences.

Mr Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said: “The era of spatial computing has arrived.

“Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore.”

An all-new App Store provides users with access to more than 1 million compatible apps across iOS and iPadOS, as well as new experiences that take advantage of the unique capabilities of Vision Pro. Pre-orders for Apple Vision Pro begin Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST.

As you might have already realised by now, the Apple Vision Pro will only be available in the US. It might take a while before it comes to Singapore’s shores…
