Apple refreshes its MacBook Air, calls it world’s best consumer laptop for AI

As the rumours have it, there is no Spring Event by Apple. Instead, Apple today refreshed the new MacBook Air with the powerful M3 chip.

With the new chip, the latest MacBook Air is said to be up to 60 percent faster than its M1 predecessor and up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. Plus, with a faster and more efficient Neural Engine in M3, Apple calls the new MacBook Air the world’s best consumer laptop for AI.

Just like its predecessor, the refreshed MacBook Air comes with stunning Liquid Retina display in 13 inches or 15 inches. Both feature the iconic thin and light design with an durable aluminium unibody enclosure tipping the scale at 1.24kg (13-inch) or 1.5kg (15-inch). It comes in four colours of midnight (aka black), starlight, space grey and silver.

It also features up to 18 hours of battery life, which is up to six hours longer than an Intel-based MacBook Air. And with the next-generation GPU of the M3 chip, the new MacBook Air supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing. It is said to offer more accurate lighting, reflections, and shadows for extremely realistic gaming experiences. It also includes the latest media engine with support for AV1 decode, providing more efficient and higher-quality video experiences from streaming services, according to Apple.
