Steinway Lyngdorf launches S$80,000 loudspeaker in Singapore

Steinway Lyngdorf – a fusion between German piano maker Steinway & Sons and Danish sound label Lyngdorf Audio – just launched the Steinway & Sons Model A free-standing loudspeaker in Singapore.

Exclusively distributed by AV One here, the Model A is a full-range loudspeaker specifically designed for room-friendly placement against a wall. But yet, it provides the acclaimed sound performance by famed Steinway & Sons.

This is due to Steinway Lyngdorf’s signature Air Motion Transformer tweeter and a dedicated midrange driver that are said to offer outstanding clarity and transparency. Two powerful 12-inch woofers deliver deep but defined bass.

In addition, the speaker design exudes the same luxurious audio traits it espouses. The Model A features distinct side panels in black piano finish, black strings, and matte gold accents, reminiscent of Steinway & Sons’ iconic pianos.

I was given a taste of what the speakers can offer during a media preview. And honestly, I was blown away by the clarity, depth and details in the sound the speakers are able to deliver.

Such excellence comes with a catch. In fact, it is a big one with a price tag starting from S$80,000. For that price or more, you can customise the colour and polished gold details as well as calibration of the speakers in the room where you want the speakers to be.
