Huawei’s next-generation foldable smartphone, Mate Xs 2, will be available in Singapore from this Saturday (June 25) at a price of S$2,598.
The Mate Xs 2 features an outward folding design with Huawei’s new generation double-rotating Falcon Wing Hinge. This allows a flat and seamless fold without any visible crease when the hinge resides. Plus, the hinge uses Huawei’s self-developed ultra-light high-strength steel for durability and longevity.
When folded, the Mate Xs 2 offers a 6.5-inch OLED display that is comparable to major flagship “unfoldable” smartphones in the market. However, it becomes a 7.8-inch phablet when the display is unfolded. Furthermore, this display can exhibit over 1 billion colours and features a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
In addition, the foldable smartphone comes with a main triple-camera system comprising a 50-megapixel (MP) wide-angle camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A 10.7MP selfie camera lets you take a quick video call on the go.
Not to mention, the Mate Xs 2 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G flagship chip for optimal performance. It also packs a 4,600mAh battery for long battery life and uses a Graphene Liquid Cooling System for enhanced heat dissipation performance.
The icing on the cake is its relatively light weight of only 255g. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 weighs 271g while the vivo X Fold tips the scales at 311g.
However, the Mate Xs 2 runs HarmonyOS 2 and lacks Google Mobile Services due to the continued US trade sanctions. But you should find most apps you need on Huawei AppGallery, its very own app store.
Coming in two colours of black and white, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 will be available from June 25 at S$2,598 at all authorised retailers as well as Huawei’s official online store in Lazada and Shopee.
